Since 2001, Harris County Defendants have been
ordered to pay more than $65 million to the
State Crime Victim's Compensation Fund.
In April of 2007, the Harris County District
Attorney's Office Victim Witness Division was
honored by the Harris County Commissioner's
Court with a Resolution recognizing their 30th
Anniversary.
Since 2004, they have sent out 99,962 letters to
victims of crime in Harris County, handled over
54,000 telephone calls and went to court or
assisted in person over 3600 victims.
Also, since 2004, 5,616 defendants have been
ordered to pay restitution to their victims
through the Victim Witness Division (this does
not include defendants who are on Community
Supervision and have been ordered to pay their
victims restitution).
Chuck Rosenthal also showed his dedication to
victims by co-sponsoring the 2006 Texas Victim
Services Association Conference and the 2007
National Parents of Murdered Children
Conference.
